Unable to forward travel plans to plans@tripit.com?
As of 27 June 2018, TripIt will no longer process email forwarded to plans@tripit.com from email servers using TLS 1.0.
Does this impact me?
If you forward a travel plan to plans@tripit.com and nothing happens/you receive an undeliverable mail message or you are not receiving TripIt emails, your email provider could be trying to connect with an email server that uses TLS 1.0.
What can you do?
You can continue to forward travel plans to plans@tripit.com by removing the existing email address from your TripIt account and adding an alternative email address. Please see our Add or remove email address help page for instructions.
If your email address is Gmail, Yahoo!, or Outlook.com, you can have trips automatically added to your account by authorising Auto-Import.
Why are we doing this?
TLS stands for Transport Layer Security and is used to establish a secure channel between two systems. TLS 1.0 has security vulnerabilities which do not meet the PCI Data security standard. To protect you, and all of our users, we now only support email servers on TLS 1.1 and higher.
Please note:
If your vendor confirmation emails are still being sent to your existing email address, please make sure you forward them to your alternative email address before forwarding to plans@tripit.com.
If you add an alternative email address to your account and do not remove the pre-existing email address, please make sure the alternative email address is listed as the primary email address on your account so you can receive TripIt emails.
